Refunds & Cancellations

Last updated: August 5, 2026

Not Today is free to use. The only paid item is a one-time “Remove ads forever” purchase. There is no subscription, no recurring charge, and nothing to cancel.

What you can buy

“Remove ads forever” is a single non-consumable in-app purchase sold through Google Play. It permanently removes both ad placements for the Google account that bought it. It does not expire, does not renew, and is not billed again.

Who takes your payment

Google Play processes the payment and issues the receipt. We never receive your card, UPI, or bank details, and we cannot charge or credit your payment method directly. Displayed price, currency, and any applicable taxes are handled by Google Play. Any refund is therefore executed by Google, not by us.

In some countries, including in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, a Google entity is the seller of record for Play purchases. Where that is the case, your contract for the purchase is with Google, and Google's own terms and consumer processes govern it. We will still help you — see below — but Google decides the refund.

If you are in the EEA or the UK

Distance-selling law normally gives you 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. For digital content delivered immediately, that right ends once delivery has started with your express consent and your acknowledgement that you lose it — which is what the Play checkout asks you to confirm. This does not affect your separate legal remedies if the entitlement is faulty or was never delivered, which remain available regardless of the 14 days. Raise those with Google Play, and with us at founder@nikhilnelson.com.

Before asking for a refund, try Restore purchases

Most “I paid but ads are still showing” reports are an entitlement that has not yet been restored on the device. Open Not Today → Settings → Restore purchases while signed in to the Google account that made the purchase, with an internet connection. The Support page has the full steps.

How to request a refund

  1. Google Play self-service. Open the Play Store, go to your order history, find the purchase, and request a refund. Google offers this directly for a limited period after purchase.
  2. Google Play support. If the self-service window has closed, ask Google Play support to review the order.
  3. Ask us. Email founder@nikhilnelson.com with the Google Play order number, the date, and what went wrong. We can review the order in Play Console and approve or recommend a refund to Google.

When we will support a refund

We will support a refund request where:

We consider other requests case by case and in good faith. We acknowledge a refund request within 48 hours and decide within 30 days. Google's own decision, method, and timeline apply to the actual repayment.

Cancellation

There is nothing to cancel: the purchase is one-time, not a subscription. You can stop using Not Today at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling does not refund a completed purchase, and it does not remove the entitlement from your Google account — reinstalling and using Restore purchases brings it back.

Your statutory rights

Nothing on this page limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 in India or equivalent law in your country of residence. If you believe there has been a deficiency in service, contact our Grievance Officer first — we would much rather fix it than argue about it.
